Buenos Aires, January 30 (NA) -- The Secretariat of Energy approved the definitive Summer Reprogramming for the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM) and the Tierra del Fuego system for the period February 1 - April 30, 2026. The measure sets new seasonal prices for energy, power, and additional services that will serve as the basis for the rate schedules of distributors nationwide, as learned by the Argentine News Agency. Resolution 22/2026 frames the reprogramming within the process of 'progressive normalization' of the MEM initiated in November 2025, with the objective of converging to 'efficient and sustainable' wholesale prices and gradually transferring real costs to final tariffs. Energy recalled that the scheme is applied under the energy and economic emergency in effect until July 2026 and in parallel to the implementation of the new Focused Energy Subsidies (SEF) regime, which redefines consumption blocks and bonuses for residential users. The portfolio instructed CAMMESA to recalculate, on a transitional basis, the power charges for distributors using a threshold of 75% of the historical maximum demand instead of 90%, with retroactive billing from November 2025, in order to facilitate tariff adaptation in the jurisdictions. Additionally, the surcharge integrating the National Electricity Fund was updated as of February 1 to 2,029 pesos per megawatt-hour, aligned with the 2% of the seasonal representative price of the supply costs defined by the Secretariat. The resolution renders null and void an annex of regulation 434/2025 and maintains the validity of articles from a 2023 provision, while instructing the notification to CAMMESA, national and provincial regulatory bodies, cooperatives, and electricity distributors nationwide, as confirmed by the Argentine News Agency.
